The Math and Music of Communication

An important skill couples learn is communication. Good communication involves talking clearly and listening well. The purpose is to get to know one another.

Speaker Bio: Rev. Bill Wong

Bill Wong 2Bill, who has been in full time ministry since 1980; has served the Lord in many capacities which have included 10 years as a field director with Christian Service Brigade Canada; Director of counseling with Burden Bearers in Surrey; Chaplain with the Baptist Housing Society of BC and presently serving as the manager of the Union Gospel Mission Resource Center in New Westminster.

Being born and raised in Canada, but initially guided by Asian beliefs and values, has equipped Bill within the context of Christian ministry, to offer insights and supports on the challenge of how to bridge the gap between two succinctly different generations of one culture that will significantly impact the way that the Asian church will reach out to its community.

As a consultant pastor to a number of English-speaking Chinese congregations in the Metro Vancouver area, Bill has served as a keynote speaker in pulpit and in conference ministry over the past 20 year and is committed to the training and mentoring of future leaders. Bill also has a passion to meet and come alongside pastors in ethnic ministry as he desires to offer support in helping church leaders deal with the challenges of building and empowering the next generation to fulfill the Great Commission.

Bill lives with his wife Jean in North Langley. They have a son, Timothy, who is a private banker, and a daughter, Allison, who is presently a student of the City University of Seattle, doing her Master’s of counseling program.
