From Here to There

This year, God is going to continue doing what He has been doing since the Fall of Creation. He is going to move His people from here to there. Where is “here”? If we are to learn from the people of Israel, “here” is anywhere that is outside of the goodness of God’s promises. Going through Joshua, we are going to see how God moves His people from wandering the 40-year status quo of the desert to the discomfort of an unknown land. We’ll see how God moves His people from cautiousness to being courageous. From fear to faith and freedom. From being outsiders to insiders. Ultimately, God will fulfill His promises and move the Israelites into remembrance of a great God. God is still doing the same today with our lives. In fact, this is going to be a huge year for you as we, as a church, move together. Are you ready? Let’s get ready to move.

Love is …

We know the Church is not simply a building but a living mosaic of real people. In fact, the Apostle Paul refers to the Church as “the body of Christ” and how everyone has a part in it. (1 Cor. 12:27)

But what does it mean to be the church? Understanding Jesus’ relationship with the Church, Paul was spurred to write 1 Cor. 12:31, “31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way…” What is the greater gift? What is the most excellent way? Love. More specifically the love as displayed by Jesus Christ. Because of love Jesus lived, and because of love He also died. Jesus is love in action.
