The Gospel of John – Sermon Series
To Believe and Have Life
There’s a saying that goes along the lines of “just because we are alive does not mean we truly have life.” Life is so much more about breathing and our hearts beating. What does it mean to have life? How can one know?
The Gospel of John is vastly different than any of the other Gospels. Yet, the message is clear in that it is a proclamation of who Jesus is – the Son of God. It is through Jesus, that we may receive life. Just like how one goes to the car manual to understand our cars, we dig deep into the riches of the Bible to the understand what it means to have life. Arguably, no other book in the Bible gives a clearer message than the Gospel of John. In John 20:31, the Apostle John writes, “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”
This series spans from 17 weeks, from December 24, 2017 – April 8, 2018. Starting with the narrative of Christmas and ending the week after Easter, may we as a church, read of Jesus’ life and believe and have life.
